Personal Development

There are Two important things I'd love you to take note of as you read.

Personal Development is Very Deliberate. It doesn't jump on you.

First;

PROCRASTINATION

We know thursdays are for Throwback, so let's throwback to the plans you made when the week started. Or probably you have an habit of not planning at all.

Many of us starts the week or even businesses with lots of enthusiasm and liveliness. We had plans but only few people are staying through with what they planned.
Some have mastered excuses!. Procrastination is not a character trait but an habit. You need to deal with it as soon as today!

Recent studies have shown that people regret more the things they haven't done than the things they have done. In addition, feelings of regret and guilt resulting from missed opportunities tend to stay with people much longer.

If you remember when we were in Secondary School or Uni, you have a test some students will be forming oversabi they won't read when others are reading and if you attend my school, there is "lecture free week" before exams where you read and cover up. But many won't do that, rather they will wait till 2days or 3days to the exams to prepare. Most times they fail.

Procrastination most times leads to failures.

You can imagine self-discipline or self-control as a moment when you give yourself orders, but you are having a hard time following them. It is not the primary cause of procrastination, but an important compound.

There are two main reasons why many people procrastinate;
• Fear of failure
• Perfectionism

You delayed your plans/goals due to fear that it won't work. Many times we are not sure of failure until we start.

You've got to Start. Avoid such mindset. If you don't start you won't know how it is to start.

The Perfectionism is sometimes the worse. Always waiting to get it all together before starting. In the actual sense, non of us have gotten it all together. We are all work in progress.

Avoid procrastination. START!
I'm sure this helps, let me know in the comments section!

Another thing;

It all started when I had to sit down and ask myself some serious questions, since it's looking like I'm doing nothing! I had goals/plans that are not visible or realistic which equals to me not "meaning" what I say.

Your goals need to be just out of reach. If you reach for an impossible target, you’re setting yourself up for a failure. If you stick to what’s easy, you’re denying yourself the satisfaction of achievement and only minimal change will occur. Find that middle ground with a stretch goal in your personal self development.

John C Maxwell’s “The Law if Intentionality” states that growth, doesn’t “just happen,” but rather must me intentional. I had to be intentional about life if I'm really going to see the kinda success I want from it. Many people are like that they can talk and talk but they lock intentionality.

Living with intention makes you realize that no one improves by accident. It helps you unify the gap between reality and ideal personal growth. When you identify your visions, goals, and habits that are necessary in your intentional living, it becomes obvious that improving our natural life does not come naturally to us. Instead, it comes by understanding what you want and then implementing them in your life.

If your goal and your intention are not aligned, then you’ll think up lots of excuses and all sorts of situations to prevent your progress.

Decide what you want your life to look like and then and “be” that.  Make a decision about how you want to feel, how you will spend your time, who you spend it with and design your life.  Make it up.

Do you have Plans? Goals?
Are they realistic? I'm asking you! Ask yourself!

Personal Development Starts with intentionality.
